New pump
The pump came quickly and was definitely new. I was surprised to see it was from China, but it appeared to be of good quality. I was also very impressed with the gasket it came with. It was able to snap it into place on the pump without requiring any RTV to hold it in.
I knew that I needed a thermostat housing, but I did not realize the pump comes without the lower output tube. It was kind of a rush to try to find a new tube to replace the rusty one I had removed.
Very pleased with my purchase and the price. -

OEM
I asked for a good bit of advice before buying a water pump for my truck. The general consensus is to get an OEM pump- Motorcraft or Navistar. My local dealership wanted $275 plus tax. This unit shipped fairly quickly and came very well packaged. 100% new, not reman. I did order new inlet, outlet, and hoses at the same time. Fit and finish are top shelf. The only thing I can think of that could make this a better product would be to include the inlet and outlet flange bolts with it, I had to salvage the old ones. The reputation would lead me to expect at least 150k miles out of this pump. For the money I am a happy camper.

Same Pump Is Over $300+ At Local Ford Dealership
This is the exact same water pump that came on your '99-'03 7.3L Power Stroke minus the $100-$200 Ford logo.....
It was a no brain decision which one to get to freshen up a aging 15 year old truck with 160,000 miles on it. The original was still serviceable at this mileage, however, I've never see a water pump last much longer than 100,000 - 120,000 miles before. This was just asking for trouble in the near future. Sure enough it would have decided to give it up on the coldest day in January or February. Better to replace it before it leaves you sitting in a bad situation on the side of the road. The best time to replace it is in Summer when it is still warm outside. At $300-$400 a pop at Ford, I can see why most guys don't change them out until they quit. Thanks to Riff Raff Diesel they give you a great price so you don't have to push your luck. -
