5 Studs or bolts? Go with Bolts
Posted by ASA JAY LAUGHTON on Mar 3rd 2025
In my case, I decided on using all bolts for my up-pipe collector to turbo housing. I had thought of using studs and nuts but this seemed like a better idea. They all installed well. The only tricky one is the bottom front on the driver side. I had to use a swivel socket on it to get the right torque. It's pretty tight in there around the turbo. Besides, there's nothing like installing new bolts. :)

5 Buy Two

Don’t make the mistake I made when doing your turbo rebuild. Just order these ahead of time and you’ll be glad you did! I had to make a second order and wait for it to get to me (fast shipping as always with Riffraff) because I decided to save a few bucks on my rebuild. These are for an EXHAUST component so unless yours have been replaced VERY recently they’re going to be frozen up and rusted to the point you won’t want to reuse them.
Order two the these, two up pipe collector nuts, two up pipe collector studs, and the up-pipe reinstall kit. -
5 Up-Pipe Collector Bolt 94-97
Posted by C Smith on Nov 20th 2022
Glad I bought 2 of these before starting my long awaited project !
Turbo had never been removed, couldn’t get the 2 lower collector nuts loose, so what was the point of removing these ?
Applied anti-seize to both bolts and torqued to 36 ft lbs without any issues. Threaded right into new collector. Would buy again if needed.
