Stainless Steel HPX for Ford 7.3L 99-03
The Stainless Steel High Pressure Crossover is meant to allow excess oil pressure to flow between both heads allowing for better supply to the injectors. By allowing the oil the flow to the opposite head, the issue of pressure spikes are less.

HPX crossover - pretty happy
I've got like 290K on my 1999 F350. I had to redo the seals on my HP oil pump and found this and the fuel system cross over.
I cleaned up the IPR valve and noted that the engine was a bit quieter, and noted that the oil cross over and the fuel cross over would make the engine quieter still.
I did the cross over and fuel cross over separately to see what the differences were. The oil cross over went in pretty quickly as others have described. It too me a few tries to get all the fittings locked down so there was no leakage of any sort. I'm very happy with that..
The big difference in noise reduction was at idle - It also appeared to lessen the noise at speed as well, but that was harder to tell. Performance wise, I have a mild 50 HP chip from a long time ago, and noticed, at best, a slight improvement to throttle response, but again, it's hard to tell.
For the cost - a nice improvement to the running of the engine. -
Smoother
Installed this while doing an oil change.
Found it easiest to remove the intake up to the Turbo.
Be alert this uses standard sizes not metric when installing. -
Smoother idle
Easy install, make sure you use the loctite or it will leak! Over all smother idle!

HPX
I was very impressed how easy it was to install. Then when I drove the truck I could not believe how much quieter the motor runs. This is a must add part to any 7.3.
