5 Bought to quiet the truck down as well as give a more stock like appearance
Posted by Unknown on Jan 2nd 2018
I previously converted over to an AFE pod plus Pete's-cover. The induction noise of the truck scared off a potential buyer. I purchased this filter for its performance, stock appearance, and improved performance over stock.
Maybe a coincidence but the next looker bought the truck!
Thanks Riff Raff, great product, great service as always! -

Easy to install and looks looks like it was installed at the factory when it was new.

Great product!! Very easy to install. I did not add the fender sleeve because my truck is still stock.

Easy to install, also added the DPP fender foam sleeve. Immediate difference. Huge difference in the lag, so much better.

2002 7.3 PSD Excursion
My X came with a K&N intake tube and filter. Replaced with the 6637 filter setup from RRD. While I liked the enhanced throttle response as well as the sound of the turbo spooling, I did not like the loud "engine drone"- it made for a long road trip. So I decided to try this Ford AIS on my truck. Swapping out the old 6637 setup with the Ford AIS was pretty straight forward, especially with the included instructions. I've noticed a little better gas mileage with the Ford AIS than the 6637 setup, but there seems to be not as much get-up and go. There might be some air restriction going on, but not enough to measure with the restriction gauge. Either way, it quieted down the drone back to stock, which makes my wife and kids happy on long trips, and my turbo gets the great filtration from the blue filter.
