Riffraff Diesel Coolant Filtration System / Filter Kit 99-03 F-Series 7.3L Powerstroke
The Riffraff Diesel coolant filtration system for the Ford 7.3L Powerstroke filters a small amount of coolant with each pass. The Donaldson spin on the filter makes it easy and inexpensive to change coolant as often as you need. Plus, the filters also remove all solid particles. Typically you will use three filters in the first nine months. Once the initial nine months has passed, you will only need to change the filter once a year.

Coolant filter
So far so good

Coolant filter
Great quality. Filter base hose ends should be AN fittings for future maintenance or ease of removal. ( installed it then water pump failed)

Good, but a few simple changes would make it great
I ordered one of these in green, and it looks nice and seems to work well. I just think the kit could be greatly improved with a few simple modifications, as follows:
1. I found it impossible to make the hose thread in straight in the water pump port until I unbolted the alternator/PS bracket and pushed it out of the way. If the kit could include a slightly angled fitting to put in the water pump port, and then the hose onto the fitting, it would have made the install much easier.
2. I had to trim the battery cover very slightly with a utility knife to make room for the filter. Not a big deal, and it didn’t make a hole in the battery box; but it looks to me that if the bracket was redesigned to move the filter just ¼ inch toward the passenger side the filter would fit with no interference anywhere.
3. After I finished installing the kit, I was concerned that the water pump-to-filter hose would vibrate back and forth and hit the drivebelt. I drilled a hole in the alt/PS bracket and secured the hose with a rubber insulated steel cable clamp (adel clamp). I also put a piece of wiring loom on the hose to prevent chafe. Luckily I had some loom and one spare adel clamp of the right size sitting around; otherwise I would have had to go all the way into town for parts. Hey Riffraff, how about including these things in the kit? -

Coolant filter kit
Everything needed for install no leaks present. Coolant filter housing alittle close to driver side battery cover. Had to do minor trimming of cover to avoid filter contact. Also wondering if changing coolant flow increase time for thermostat to open. High quality filter plate. Over all great product. Install time 1 hour.

American Made!
Nice quality kit, filter, hose and billet parts all say made in usa right on them. Way to go guys! This is what we need to see. Quick install over all, 2/10 on difficulty. If you can change your own oil you can install this kit.

Easy to install
Was a fairly easy install, fit great. Really good American made hoses, and stainless fittings. Was a big improvement over the others I have seen.

Awesome product!
RiffRaff did an awesome job with this kit, fits perfectly and works great! Was a little bit of a tight fit for the filter next to my S&B intake but just enough room they don’t rub on each other. Read a lot of complaints about no swivel ends on the hoses but in my opinion it’s a good idea cause I’ve seen too many swivel ends leak on stuff and still easy to put together just have to plan it out. Red billet filter housing looks awesome with the rest of my red billet RiffRaff add on’s!
