    Oil cooler gasket set

Posted by Scott McBride on Mar 2nd 2022

As always Clay has the best prices and fast shipping.

After cleaning the mess created by 315k miles. The old gaskets fell off and the new ones went on easily. I used a ratchet strap to pull the caps together, it tends to cant the caps a bit so a swift pop with a rubber mallet and the seated. It’s pretty straight forward with the reinstall.

I buy all my products from Riffraff, because you can’t go wrong here.

    Oil cooler seals

Posted by Kevin Hatley on Feb 21st 2022

Don’t buy aftermarket seals for the oil cooler. I made this mistake for a quick fix. Buy this kit to avoid having to do it again a few weeks later if it doesn’t start leaking before. Great price cheaper than buying from stealership! Excellent service as always!

    Fixed my Oil Leak

Posted by Clayton Hines on Jan 8th 2022

I have tried everything to get rid of a seasonal leak on my 7.3L. I rebuilt turbo and pedestal, all the oil rail end plug o rings, and all the other common leaks on this engine. Finally was able to see it was coming from the front seal on the oil cooler. Now I have no leaks! Good OEM quality, do not go with aftermarket brands. The original seals lasted 280K, I will drive another 280K worry free!

As for the job itself, I recommend taking off the entire assembly. I spent the majority of my time cleaning the oil cooler. Old o rings crumbled when I tried to take them off. When reassembling, I used my body weight pressure to "press" fit the end caps back on. Blunt force such as a rubber mallet did not work.
