Mitsimoto trans cooler
Nice cooler, could have been better designed on the mounting flanges. If you don’t want to modify It won’t fit. The side flanges are cut with a straight outer edge that doesn’t fit within the core support opening without trimming to fit the angle on the side lower area of flange. So much for the life time warranty, I’m sure they probably wouldn’t warranty after trimming. I like their products (I have radiator and degas tank also) and it cools well. I’m not the 1st to have to modify to fit, maybe they will change this small detail. Also, wish hose connections had built in 90s. Minor grips, but overall pretty happy.

Mishimoto transmission cooler
Recently installed this cooler on my 2002 Excursion. Overall an easy install but do yourself a favor and got to the auto parts store and buy new nut plates. Would have saved myself an hour of fighting with the old plates on reinstallation. Towed my 8,000 lb camper and never saw trans temps higher than 160F.

It works
Bone stock 2002 Excursion with a 7.3 and 168k miles. In Central Tx, I was seeing an ECU read 180-190 degrees in 95+ degree weather, empty. Now I see 165-170. I haven't towed with this much just an hour one way on a couple of trips with my 36ft camper with 3 slides which weighs 9200 lbs empty. I grossed 17.5k on a set of Cat scales with just me and the empty camper. I'm guessing loaded with the family it's around 18.2k. 8 to 10 miles of 45-50 mph roads before I can hit highway speeds and the trans temp maxed at 187 with 100 degree outside temps. Within a couple of miles at 65-70, trans temp would cool to 180-181 which is cooler than what I was running empty.
I used the rubber bushings and washers from the box, make sure you look for them, I almost didn't find them. The one thing I would do different is to use 90 degree elbows at the inlet and outlet of the cooler because the bend in the hose is tighter than I would like. I did pull the grill and bumper and had to trim the bottom corners of the upper mounting tabs. -
Nice product ..
Fit perfectly .. needs to come with lines tho.. would be nice if they offered pre formed lines ..

Great upgrade
Arrived quickly and not damaged. Easy to install. Has made a drastic change in my transmission temperatures. No longer overheats on the highway while pulling a load.

10 degree drop in temp for 7.3 Excursion
I installed the Mishi trans cooler in my 03 Excursion 7.3. Installl went quick with the 7.3 to 6.0 adapters (you need 2). So far I'm getting a consistent 10 degree drop in trans temps. As always great service from Riffraff!

Best trans cooler
I installed this cooler on my 2001 f250 and the fit was easy and clean. I had removed the front clip from the truck to replace with a new one so getting the new cooler into its place was not an issue at all

Big difference
Installed this on 7.3l and replaced the small cooler and running 30-40 degrees cooler around town and towing. Also heats up much slower. I am running it with a deep tranny pan too. With the deeper pan it ran 5-10 degrees cooler but warmed up much slower so with this even slower to heat up and much cooler. Very happy and easy to install. Quality product.
