I went through way too much work to figure out what was causing a rough idle when up to temp. Turns out it was aerated oil from the LPOP. Before figuring this out, unfortunately i replaced the IPR and installed new injector o-rings. This pump totally solved it. Easy way to diagnose is if you run the truck at 3k RPM for 2-3 mins then let off the pedal and it dies, nearly dies, or idles rough - you have aerated oil. While its true the injector o-rings can leak or the ipr can be bad, the LPOP is the most likely source of the aerated oil. My truck has 201k miles on it. Install was easy (bought the harmonic balancer remove/install tool from harbor freight - it worked perfectly). Have bought lots of parts from Clay at Riff Raff. easy installing if you have the right tools. comes with everything you need. havent noticed a huge difference but my old pump was definately reaching the end of its life.

This product is much better than factory ford pump easy to install start to finish its a 45 minute job drain coolant pull the radiator pull the harmonic balancer pull old pump and install the new pump

Great pump at very reasonable price. Melling oil pump solved my injection pressure low at idle problem and truck runs better at any speed now as apposed to stock pump. Easy instructions to flow and had it installed within two hours. Keep up the good work there at riffraff.

This is a great product and much easier to replace front main seal then the other way and you get a better Lpop than stock,when renting tools make sure to get a longer center bolt to put the harmonic balancer back on and make sure you do the cardboard in front of radiator like recommended my bolt broke being to short and stuck in the cardboard saved my radiator use thick cardboard great instructions

Clays shipping is very fast. Took a while to get this installed. I decided to replace the stock pump with the Melling as I was replacing the dampner with a fluid dampner. My old pump looked good and I have always used synthetic oil sence new, but I gained 10 pounds at idle and 15+ cruising.
