Not quite adequate, especially when using them by hand.

Posted by Jason Thompson on Jan 7th 2021

I don't think I would have been able to remove the old injector cup retaining compound with these brushes by hand. I ended up cutting the handles off and chucking them in a drill. I was able to clean most of the bores then with these though they gave out before I had finished the last bore requiring me to purchase a different set of brushes. It is worth saying that the retaining compound is difficult to remove, but I would think that Alliant would have had that in mind given that this is their designed purpose.

Great if you have toilet brush technique

I would have expected a wire brush that actually fits the bore, and a facing brush that has the same diameter as the seat, of a 7.3 HEUI's injector cup/sleeve. I found this to be a useless tool that didn't do the job. Complete waste of money.

Thank God I bought this. I don’t know how anyone would do this job without them!!!

Helped but still needed other tools

Posted by Unknown on May 12th 2018

The large brush really didn't take off all of the old sealant form the bores. I ended up needing to use a pick and large screwdriver to get some of the tougher spots from the sides and bottoms of the bore. The long skinny brush worked better but I found better results attaching a similar brush I had on hand to a portable drill to really get the bottoms of the bores cleaned out good. These Alliant tools are high quality tools but they simply didn't do a complete job. They were a help fro sure. I'd recommend a larger diameter size of the big brush and a drill attachable version of the smaller brush. Sure are pricey.

    Nice brushes, could use improvement

These brushes are expensive but do a decent job of cleaning the holes for the injector cups. In my opinion, the diameter of the larger brush could be increased to be tighter in the hole to speed cleaning. Only just enough to give a little resistance.
1 perk is they come in a nice clear tube for storage.

Works much better than the cheaper bore brushes out there. A must have when replacing injectors. Shipped the same day I ordered them. Had them two days later.
