Elimination of the thrust bearing eliminates Failures at elevated boost levels
The 88mm GT compressor wheel provides 33% more flow than the stock 80mm wheel.
Ported shroud housing improves compressor flow range for surge control 1.00 A/R turbine housing for free flowing exhaust with reduced back pressure and up to 200° F reduction in exhaust gas temperature
Maximum recommended boost level is 40psi

    This turbo sis old tech. It has more of a whine than a whistle and gets old after a while. Too many other options for this price you can almost do a T4 build. If you want a drop in turbo go with KC , they will make more power than this old design and are rebuildable

    A huge difference matched up with a full 4 inch exhaust system. You can hear it spooling up just driving in a parking lot. Big note: make sure you read the tips with the installation and insure you lube the bearings as stated or you will be burn up the turbo. Love it!

    This turbo is good if you are running stage 2 injectors or smaller. I had it on my truck with 205/30cc injectors for about 10k miles. Turbo is not having it. I am switching to the 66/73 kc turbo. It's meant for bigger injectors. The bearing are what went out in my 38r. Makes a growling noise where there should be a whistle

    Crappy intake boot

    Intake boot doesn’t fit worth a darn, will have to trim, get frustrated and settle with a half collapsed intake boot. Intake is much larger than stock and won’t work with stock intake parts.

    Installed along with new manifolds, up-pipes, pedestal, and ebpv delete. Quite a bit louder with the ball bearing design as others have noted but doesn't bother me. I drive with the windows down 90% of the time anyway. Im sure the 6637 filter doesn't help. Still running stock fuel plus the FRX so it takes a bit more to spool in the lower RPM range but fuel mods are next. Can still build 30 psi at wot. EGTs are relatively the same but haven't pulled anything to see loaded temps yet. No more compressor surge thankfully. Surprised it didn't come with new mounting bolts for the turbo to pedestal. Old ones looked fine so reused them. Overall very pleased.
