    WOW

Posted by Rick on Jan 13th 2016

Bought this to replace my stock turbo that seized after 13 years and 297,000 miles. Also bought the billet wheel to replace the stock wheel. This thing screams like there is no tomorrow. Paired up with EBPV delete pedestal, 4" exhaust and new intake my truck runs like a champ.

So far so good. Quick spool thankfully and not too loud.

Posted by Unknown on Nov 25th 2015

After reading several reviews on this terrible I was worried it was going to be too noisy. It has been great noise level wise. I installed a wicked wheel two which was supposed to help spool time and noise levels. It has been great so far and I couldn't be more pleased.

Riffraff shipped it immediately along with my International Up Pipes which are also great quality.

Both of these products were high quality and a great addition to my 7.3.

You won't regret purchasing either of these products from Riffraff.

    Worth it,

Excellent experience with Riffraff and a product that was what I was expecting. The 38r completed the other upgrades done to my 7.3. I now have a truck that pulls a heavy load with ease and is a blast to drive. No need to spend $60k on a new truck just to get a smogged out dog.

    Excellent upgrade from stock!

Posted by Tristan L. on Sep 28th 2015

I bought this after deciding to do the EBPV delete, hoping that it would help with the light towing I do. With the stock turbo, something as simple as hauling my 17.5' bass boat would cause compressor surge and often times over-boost, kicking off cruise control. With stock injectors on a flash tune, I can tell a HUGE difference in performance not to mention the lovely sound we all like to hear from a turbo. :)

    Really enjoy this turbo!!

Posted by HKusp on Aug 26th 2015

It was a straight forward installation and the addition of this turbo really took advantage of the 160/30% over sized injectors and the T500. These trucks should have come with this turbo from the factory. The quality is oustanding, and with my set-up, it's not laggy. The whistle and performance is intoxicating.

Awesome upgrade and awesome service from Clay as usual!

Posted by Matt on Aug 13th 2015

Stock turbo quite literally blew apart, so my hand was forced. Already have 238/80 injectors in the truck, and with the tunes from Gearhead the 38R is a phenomenal upgrade. Quick to spool, smooth even power delivery, and of course that whistle! 6.0's have nothing on the sound it makes.

Love love LOVE this turbo, absolute must if you're looking to upgrade your 7.3.

As usual, huge shout out to Clay for his amazing service and always returning phone calls the same day!

    Makes a great truck AWESOME!

Posted by Rich Sherman on Jun 1st 2015

My turbo bit the dust and I had to replace it. This was a no brainer to me...the truck is 15 years old and I plan to keep for at least another 15! This is the way to go. Roller bearings are what should be on the stock turbo and 4 inch in only makes sense(there rest is 4 inch...why are you cutting it to 3 inch on the stock turbo?) This thing is a great upgrade. Spool up is almost instantaneous!
