7.3L Diesel Fuel Rail Crossover™ (FRx) 99-03 Powerstroke
"The Prescription For Your Fuel System Needs®"
Our 2nd Generation FRx™ System utilizes Eaton Aeroquip® 304 Stainless Steel Braided lines covered with a groundbreaking protective layer of HYTREL® from DuPont.
The FRx™ was made to solve the 'deadhead' fuel rail issue on the 99-03 Powerstroke engine by connecting the two heads and allowing a metered return you allow the air another return path, rather than forcing it through your injectors. This product was designed to eliminate the need to cut your return line and use compression fittings, so that it is a true bolt on system. We have also machined the FRx™ block to provide from stock to 72 psi of fuel pressure depending on which spring you choose to install it with. By using our kit and eliminating the air in the fuel system you can experience smoother, quieter idle, less cackle, and better throttle response among other things. You will also be increasing your injector life as well by utilizing the FRx™ and creating a regulated return back to the tank. Protective covers are also pre-installed to prevent chaffing of engine components from the SS braided line. These covers are also great if you want to keep the system looking OE and not draw attention to it once installed.

FRX
I was impressed when I looked this thing over. It's specifically designed and the quality of all the parts is top notch. I really think it's 4.5 stars; the only negative is it's a bitch to install, takes a special tool to get out the existing plugs and that's not included, and the directions aren't clear on the best routing for the hoses. We got it all in but finding a place to ziptie the hoses so they don't rub is tough. Perhaps if the hoses were a few inches longer, they could be routed along existing wiring or tubing. But even with that tiny negative, this a beautifully made crossover and I immediately noticed that the motor's quieter. My truck: 2000 7.3, stock except for a Hydra chip.

FRX return
I was doing all sorts of work on my truck. Replaced a cracked head to be specific. While under the hood decided to do all I could as preventative maintenance and small upgrades. Install of the FRX was easy with all top end components removed. First thing my friend said after he saw it running was “Is it quieter “!
No joke. Was hard for me to tell with all the other stuff I was more concerned about but his comment was great to hear. He didn’t even know I had done it! -
Yes
Install was a bit tricky. It fits very well. Did this with the hpx line.
The hard part was getting the rear hose attached. It's difficult with only fitting one hand. But I didn't take off the intake hose.
I noticed that my egts are slightly lower under hard acceleration. And the engine runs much smoother. It feels more balanced. It's also noticeably quieter. The cackling is still there. But I'd guess 20-25% less cackle. All in all I'm very pleased. And have recommended this to several people. Thanks again riffraff. -
Cured the Cackle!
I purchased this with hopes of curing the engine cackle I was having. After researching possible solutions, I came across the number 8 injector issues and links that lead me to the FRX. I bit the built and made the purchase and it was well worth the small investment. Idle is quieter , smoother, and no more random cackle.
I couldn’t be happier :) -
Awesome Mod
This by far has made the most difference in how much better truck idles and starts. I have been running a 4 line feed fuel system for about a year now, but got tired of all of the knocking and injection noise that it never changed from stock. Saw this on a forum and decided to give it a try. What a difference! I can't believe how much faster the old 7.3L starts and how much smoother/ quieter the idle is. I wish I had known about this years ago and never wasted my time and money on the other fuel system. Kudos Riff Raff and thank you for the quality product.

Awesome little upgrade
I had a faint pinging/pre-ignition sound like a gas motor would have. I later diagnosed it to massive amounts of air in the fuel. My in-tank plastic components were totally falling apart. I did the hutch mod, frx, and hpx at the same time. My truck is a 2000 and has never idled so smooth and a bit quieter. Its also smoother on acceleration and highway speeds with what seems to be a little better throttle response as well. I couldn't be happier with the combination of the 3 mods.

FUEL RAIL CROSSOVER™ (FRX
Easy to install and works like it should. Used the 70lb spring.

FRX
The installation was easier than I had anticipated. The driver side head fitting was a blind install, could not see it at all but was successful first time in attempting to get the threads started. Performance change was minimal, steadied the engine at idle but still have a cackle when the engine heats up. Been chasing this issue forever. Truck is a 2000 with 38K original miles. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase.

FRX
Made my truck quieter and a little better throttle response. I just installed it and drove maybe 40 miles so can’t give too much on the performance but I could tell a difference. Installation was strait forward but frustrating. Mainly the front plug. Do yourself a favor and pick up the 8 point socket they recommend. It was too tight to get vise grips down there. Other than that front plug and the 45 minutes I spent searching for the male fitting I dropped in the valley, it went together pretty easy.
