Fuel Filter Bowl Cap for Ford 7.3L Powerstroke (99-03)

This factory fuel bowl cap will need to be used with the OEM factory filters. We highly recommend staying OEM filters for better filtration and water seperation rather than going to an aftermarket all-in-one setup with the filter attached to the cap.

Truck had an aftermarket bowl cap when I bought it. Always wanted to cross thread when I changed the filter, this threads in with ease

    Fuel Bowl Cap

Part showed up and was just as advertised. I bought the cap wrench tool from OTC and it worked great (link below - bought on Amazon for $15 bucks).

Not sure why the complaints below with the triangular o-ring - I have no leaks and it is the same o-ring that OEM Ford provides with the fuel filters.

Better than the one piece units!

The good: with the cap being separate, you can be sure the filter is seated correctly, and you can turn the key on to fill the bowl.

The bad: stupid factory design that requires a strap wrench to tighten.

    Factory Fuel filter cap

Posted by Terry on Dec 22nd 2015

After two back-to-back weeks of blown fuel filter gaskets, I realized the aftermarket supplier for caps "ain't what it used to be". I decided to resort back to the factory design. As expected, it has sealed tightly and has no leaks. Having owned the truck since new (14 yrs), I discarded the original cap long ago. The factory one I bought is what should stay on these, and the price was great and delivery as expected.

    Buy OEM

Posted by Duncan Cloud on Dec 2nd 2015

The previous owner of my truck had the all in one filter and cap. Threw that junk away and bought an OEM filter and this cap instead. Don't go cheap with parts, buy OEM or even better, Riffraff made quality products!
