    Installation Software Has Bugs

Posted by John on Jan 30th 2021

Installation was a pain running Win 10 OS. It's Win 8 software. Had to speak directly with a tech at Esspro for work-around. You must download and install separate .dll file and usb driver fix from their website to have a successful working product. Reason for two stars knocked off rating, being Win 10 has been around for a very long time and they haven't fixed those compatibility issues. That said, it's an easy interface to work with. You can set high/low alarm light (EV2 gauges) set-points and custom tweak gauge light output to exactly match your dim incandescent oem cluster light output. No need for a separate wire-in dimmer rheostat to accomplish the same results. Software comes on a thumb drive, not a CD as in product picture. No big deal just a FYI in what you'll get, which allows software installation on computers with no CD drive that's common these days.

    Old School but works

Posted by Tenikiwon on Jun 16th 2015

Needed an option to set the warning lamp option of my gauges. That is does.

Found out my gauges were much brighter than my dash, was able to tone them down.

    However....
Not the easiest to install, instructions on CD didn't match what I ended up doing to get it to work.
The software is crude, doesn't save settings, and isn't the most intuative.
It works and does what they say it will.

Helps keep me aware before hitting redline

This is a really good thing to have if you run isspro gauges. being able to set the warning light on trans temp, egt, and fuel pressure keeps me from from having to look over and read the gauge to see where I'm at. Now I can just give it a quick glance... no red light... keep on boosting up the hill.

Good safety measure for the gauges.

Loading the software driver onto the computer was confusing with the terminology used in the instructions but once it was loaded I had no issues programming the warning light parameters to the gauges.

Would be a 5 if it worked out of the box

This is a pretty cool product that allows you to program various attributes of EV2 (and Performax) gauges. Namely, setting the set-point for the warning light. My gauges came with the warning light hardware, but was before they actually had the gauges programmed to trigger.

The software is fairly intuitive to use, and anyone with moderate computer skills *should* be able to use it, no problem. HOWEVER, there are two potential problems - some of the USB cables were bad - a known issue from ISSPRO which they've fixed, but if you're getting one from older stock, the cable could be dead on arrival. Also, there's some driver updates, which can be found here ( if anyone has this and is finding an error along the lines of the ISSPRO software not being able to find the device or the cable, I just talked to Michael this morning and he said about a week and a half ago, Microsoft sent a Windows update that broke their drivers and that the new drivers are available here:

With my particular order the programmer didn't work out of the box. So after a call to ISSPRO I found out about the driver thing. That didn't solve the problem, so they sent me a new cable, Priority Mail. Together, the two issues were solved and I'm very happy with the product. I definitely recommend it, but if you do run into any problems, just call ISSPRO and they'll take care of you.
