Replacement for Motorcraft pump assembly F81Z-9C407-AC
EARLY 1999 Model Warning - Many of the Early 1999 original pumps have a smaller outlet thread size for the quick connect fitting. If you have an Early 1999, check to see that the threads on the fitting are a 10mm fine pitch thread (9.9mm - 9.8mm as measured with calipers). If your fitting is smaller that this, include the new fuel outlet fitting with your order.

Good pump
I went through 4 pumps in a year before I found this one. This one is quiet and I have a good feeling that I won't have to replace it for a long time.

fuel pump
The fuel pump was a direct fit for my early 99 f250. Very easy to install. The pump is not any louder than factory. Overall very good pump. Between rebuilding fuel pressure regulator and this pump, my truck is now running 70 psi at my fuel bowl. Extremely satisfied with this Bosch pump.

Great Fuel Pump!
I bought this one to replace the original one on my early 1999 7.3 Powerstroke. Even at 200,000 miles, the original one still worked properly but I decided to get a new one to be on the safe side. Works great and keeps the injectors happy!

Don't be swayed by other pumps with smaller price tags!
I have been upgrading my 2000 7.3L Powerstroke and this involved a lot of research into which fuel pump was best... and why.
1. The fuel passes through the brushes in this pump. This lubricates the brushes and vastly extends the life of the pump.
2. It's engineered for diesel. Careful scrutiny of many competitive pumps (read the fine print) reveals they were never intended for use on diesel. Many of these units are reputed to fail early, but some people are OK with it because of price.
3. Of the diesel-rated pumps I found that match or exceed the performance of this OEM pump - they were all for racing. Examination of the fine print on these pumps make it clear that while they can run races, they were not designed to endure hundreds of thousands of miles.
I have AC 160/100 injectors and this OEM pump delivers the goods. I had to add ladder bars on my stock-height truck to solve an axle-wrap problem... so my upgrade is noticeable to me, but not to the pump.
