These steering stabilizers feature digressive valving, reducing vibration and wear & tear on steering components. Designed specifically to replace the vehicle's OE stabilizer, for easy installation. (zinc-plated steel body, Triple-C-Technology coating)

5100 Steering Damper 4WD 01 Excursion
Fit perfectly and made a noticeable improvement on rough roads versus the 175k mile factory damper. Very pleased with my purchase and the ease of installation! Instructions were excellent as well.

Just wondered why Bilstein doesn't have a cover over the piston like others do?

Perfect fit
This feels much better than the Rancho I had installed a few years earlier. Note that this damper uses the original Ford bracket and bolts except for one bolt. The instructions give you the exact measurement to place the end bracket. I had to guess on the rancho. I am very satisfied.

Bilstein 5100 steering damper
Had this factory style replacement steering damper installed on my f250, the steering damper causes truck to pull badly to the left, I am currently attempting to return the product, alignment and entire front end is correct and tight, truck drives perfect when this stabilizer is removed.
