Anti-Surge Compressor Wheel

These are 94.5-Early 99 Powerstroke compressor wheels used to minimize surge on the 99.5-03 7.3L. Similarly known as "Wicked Wheels", these wheels feature a "lowered vane" design which increases and improves flow throughout the rpm ranges.

    Whistling wheel

Posted by lartross on Oct 15th 2014

I really haven't had it too long, but, it definitely creates more boost. Where I used to get 1-4 "mg, I now get 1-10" mg. I can't really tell if there's more power or less smoke, but, my truck is running great and no turbo surge, yet. It does whistle when loaded up, like going 75 on cruise control against a head wind up hill or punching it to get around a slow guy. Otherwise, it's unnoticeable.

I replaced a nicked wheel with this wheel. My customer pulled heavy loads and he noticed the surge was gone without me even telling him I used a different style then stock. Great test with great results. Thanks Riffraff for a great product and great price!!

I bought this to replace my worn out stock compressor wheel. Wow, what a difference! From 2k rpms and up, it really whistles! Great price too!!

    Good Product

My old wheel had nicks, so I ordered this original Borg Warner wheel. It made a noticeable difference in my turbo performance for the factory turbo. Its got a much deeper whistle and good blow-off upon letting out of the throttle. I haven't had any surge issue and pushed it all the way to 32PSI, I have no waste-gate. My 6637 filter setup is feeding more air than this wheel can compress.

    Good upgrade.

I changed this wheel on my 2000 F250. It does not increase power but does take out the surge as advertised. Mine would only surge when pulling a heavy load but this wheel has corrected the problem. Not fun to change but only takes a few hours. Should be changed on all 7.3 having problems with turbo surge.
