Works great, 100% cured turbo surge on a stock but tuned 99.

My .99 7.3 had a compressor wheel that looked like it had been blasted and eroded, to the point that the vanes were radiused instead of having corners. The truck ran with rasp out of the exhaust like the muffler was clogged as well. I also wanted to do an EBPV delete and pedestal change. Found the bearings very worn in the turbo, so I ordered the wheel, pedestal and bearing kit. I plugged the valve shaft with a freeze plug. The leaks are fixed, the slop in the turbo bearings is gone, and there is no more raspy hiss in the exhaust. I"m a happy clam! Thanks, RiffRaff Diesel!

Great for the money but it a little heavier than stock takes just a little longer
to spool but I still have no complaints

Once you've got the turbo out this is a fairly easy install, better spool up, less or no surging and a very reasonable price, definitely different than the stock wheel. This will not give noticeable seat of the pants perfomance gains, there are other more expensive wheels for that.

With my tuner, I was getting too much boost under heavy loads at low engine speeds with he stock wheel on my 01 7.3. This caused me to have to back off the throttle and loose momentum pulling hills.

Replaced my stock wheel with this one and problem solved. Seems to spool faster now and I still get full boost at the higher RPMs. So far I am very happy with it, but haven’t towed heavy with it yet. Not expecting any more surge problems though.
